Friday, March 8th saw the front-month NYMEX Natural Gas Futures Contract open at $2.875, a penny above Thursday’s closing price of $2.866. Jumping to the intraday high of $2.885 as markets opened, the contract soon settled in along $2.865 where it spent most of the day. Trading within a penny of this mark over the course of the session, traders are likely awaiting the impending thaw to reassess market fundamentals. The April contract closed nearly flat on Friday at $2.865.
This morning in Globex, WTI Crude was up 36 cents; Natural Gas was down eight cents; Heating Oil was up slightly; and Gasoline was up two cents.
